TREASURES FROM THE WRECK OF THE UNBELIEVABLE
Oxford Films / Damien Hirst
The film follows a team of researchers and archaeologists as they discover so-called treasure from a 1st or 2nd century shipwreck belonging to "Amotan" beneath the surface of the Indian Ocean. The treasure is reassembled and displayed in Venice by Damien Hirst, forming the basis of his colossal and exhilirating 2017 exhibition.
Funded by Hirst, both the film and exhibition are the ambitious projects of one of the world's most recognised and controversial contemporary artists.
